Always avant-garde, the "godmother of grunge" left the Sonic Youth years behind her in 2011, continuing to explore new territories of expression, whether in visual art, writing or, of course, music. In just one year, she teamed up with Bill Nace to form the experimental duo Body/Head, with whom Kim Gordon would go on to release four albums. Later, the American singer and bassist reinvented herself with Yoko Ono, Alex Knost for the duo Glitterbust, Warpaint's Stella Mozgawa and many others.
